Michael Gump has been involved in the custom residential building field for approximately twenty years.  Starting in a family owned architectural millwork business, he moved on to the management side of building the highest quality custom homes in the area.  Upon the foundation of an apprenticeship program for developing skilled craftsmen, Michael helped gather a workforce that handled the primary aspects of custom homebuilding.  From superintendents to carpenters and the MEP trades, his labor management and team approach has been the backbone of crafting the finest homes.

Memorial Designer: Alejandro Silva: ASilvas.cm LLC (www.asilvas.com)

Alejandro Silva is a design professional who has integrated his passion for all aspects of visual communication into a multifaceted creative career.  Originally from Southern California, Silva relocated to Savannah, GA, in 1989 to complete his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Architecture at the Savannah College of Art and Design.  He has since developed and applied his expertise in conceptual design as a partner at a reputable architectural firm, as an educator, and as an independent artist and designer.  Equipped with an extensive knowledge of fields running the gamut from graphic design to painting, and drawing inspiration from his diverse Ecuadorian and Costa Rican heritage, Silva uniquely engages his twenty-first century American context by creating stunning, bold forms in an array of media and formats.

Secretary: Amy Bartlinski is an experienced trainer with a background of more than 20 years spent designing and delivering professional development to adults of diverse backgrounds in professional settings. She holds an M.S. degree in School Administration and Supervision from the Johns Hopkins University. She began her career as a public school teacher but soon discovered that she preferred the nonprofit setting and supporting small, advocacy-based organizations. This, coupled with her lifelong commitment to removing educational and professional barriers, led to a career of working with various nonprofit organizations. Amy believes that the key to an organization's success is its relationships, and she looks forward to working with individuals and agencies that share the same vision as Veterans and Athletes United.
